MedApps is partnering and working with major medical device manufacturers, telecom companies, medical software companies, chip and component manufacturers and healthcare organizations to introduce its Telemedicine 2.0 Solution on a national level.

MedApps is working on a wide range of medical products, which are presently in the prototype stage, with plans to launch these devices throughout 2008. A common, key factor in these products is their small size – these are convenient, discreet personal appliances that not only help monitor individuals with chronic disease, they also help in maintaining a wellness program in order to stop the progression to a chronic disease.

MedApps has developed the ability to select telecommunication methods on the fly, within our devices as well as other associated medical devices. These telecom protocols include Bluetooth, Zigbee, ULP (Wibree), ANT, GSM, CDMA, Ethernet, WiFi, WiMax, Modem (POTS), etc., and allow users to pick the communication protocol for their device, instead of building it directly into each device. Also, the proprietary telecom method would output data in a common format, for interoperability between devices (11073 IEEE / Continua), and would include MedApps' “Tap and Pair” features, for easier integration of wireless devices.

The technology behind the new MedApps product line addresses many of the industrial weaknesses such as Bluetooth / Wireless spectrum problems, and MedApps has created new modules that address this issue. MedApps includes M2M GSM chips directly on some devices to not only reduce costs, but also to reduce failure points in communication. This new feature has been added as it was found that M2M will not only eliminate a failure point, but will further cost less because of the low volume of data-only transmission.
